About Me

Hi, I’m Nathalie — a somatic practitioner, therapeutic arts facilitator, mother, and guide.

My journey into this work began early. When I was born, the doctor asked, “Who’s the dancer?” — my mother had danced while pregnant with me, and movement became my first language. I grew up in Brooklyn, where she taught dance from the top floor of our brownstone. I later channeled that love of movement into sports, using physical intensity to stay grounded in my body.

But like many, I experienced a period of disconnection in my teens. Experimenting with hallucinogens, I began living more in my imagination than in my body.

It was through working with a somatic-based therapist — alongside meditation, Pilates, and yoga — that I gradually reconnected with my body and this present reality.

Becoming a mother deepened that reconnection. Preparing for birth led me into the worlds of somatic awareness, breathwork, mindfulness, and natural birth. These practices helped me feel empowered in my body and awakened a desire to support others in doing the same.

My path has been wide and winding: I studied Pilates, yoga, and creative arts. I earned an MFA in painting and discovered performance art as a powerful outlet for emotional expression. I taught art to children, completed a Steiner teacher training, and later earned a UK-based art therapy degree, working in both schools and private practice.

Each step brought me closer to understanding myself — and how to hold space for others with creativity, compassion, and care. Today, I support both adults and children through a blend of therapeutic art-making, somatic guidance, movement, and trauma-informed practices.

I work with the whole person — your body, your emotions, your story, and your inner wisdom.

This work is deeply personal to me. It’s not about fixing — but about remembering, reconnecting, and returning to the power already within you.

WORK WITH ME

Why Choose Art Therapy?

When life feels overwhelming or hard to understand, finding the right words can be difficult—especially for children, but often for adults too. Therapeutic art offers a gentle, creative pathway to express feelings, release what’s held inside, and gain insight into our inner world without needing to explain everything out loud.

Art-making bypasses the thinking mind and activates areas of the brain connected to emotion, memory, and self-expression. Neuroscience shows that this process can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and support emotional healing for both children and adults. It's not about artistic skill—it’s about creating space for what needs to be seen, felt, and transformed

  • Whether you or your child have experienced something intense—emotionally, physically, or relationally—somatic practices can offer a safe and gentle way to reconnect with the body. Even if it doesn’t feel like “trauma,” the body may still be holding stress or overwhelm that hasn’t had a chance to fully process.

Somatic practices focus on body awareness, breath, movement, and sensation to help create grounding and a sense of safety from the inside out. I integrate principles from Somatic Experiencing®, a trauma-informed approach that supports the nervous system in releasing stored tension and restoring balance.

Neuroscience shows us that experiences are not just processed through the mind—they are also held in the body. Through somatic work, we access the part of the brain responsible for survival responses and self-regulation, helping both children and adults build resilience, calm, and a deeper sense of connection to themselves.

  • A private session for a child is $75 and a private session for an adult is $100.

I understand that circumstances can vary, and I’m open to having a conversation if cost is a concern. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

  • Yes, online sessions can be just as effective. The experiential nature of art and somatic practices allows for deep connection—even through a screen. Sessions include guided activities that support you in connecting with your body, breath, and emotions, while also engaging creatively with your own space.

Rather than feeling distant, many clients find that online sessions offer a grounded and personal experience. The work encourages presence and embodiment, helping you feel supported and connected—both to yourself and within the session.

  • I do not currently accept insurance.

  • I am an inclusive, LGBTQ+ affirming practitioner who welcomes individuals of all identities, backgrounds, and lived experiences. My practice offers a safe, respectful space for anyone navigating emotional, mental, or physical challenges that impact their overall well-being.

You are invited to share as much or as little as feels right for you. My intention is to support your healing in a space where you feel comfortable, grounded, and truly seen—just as you are.
